Day 1

We got in Brazil at 2:00 in the morning so we were pretty tired on the drive to the hotel. We checked in earlier than we planned since we wanted to sleep and then got breakfast. We ate and then looked around for a bank in which to take out some Reais (Brazil’s local currency). We went back to the hotel, got changed and then went to Ipanema beach. Ipanema beach is famous for it’s good surf but today was a bit windy so the water was cold.

As we were walking back from the beach we stopped by a restaurant to get pizza for lunch. After we ate we came back to the hotel to rest since we were tired from the flight. Once we finished, we left the hotel to do some shopping. I got a leather jacket and my dad got a wetsuit top for surfing. By the time we finished we were a little hungry so we stopped by a restaurant near the beach to grab a bite. We also got ice cream as dessert.

When we returned to the hotel, our stomachs full, we went up to the pool where I sat pondering what to write for day 1 of Brazil, we got cold so we went back in and here I am now, writing this blog, for you guys to read. That’s all for today so please come back tommorow where more adventures awaits.

Day 2

We got up early in the morning to head to Cristo Redentor, it is said to be one of the world’s seven wonders. While we were waiting for a bus to take us we bumped into a monkey who wanted to steal our food! As we climbed up we could not believe our eyes, it was so big and so beautiful.

After we finished we were a little hungry so we stopped by Colombo Bakery which has been opened since 1892. It has soooooo many treats, probably well over 60 of them. We were a little tired after then so we went back to the hotel to rest. We stayed their for about two hours and then set off again on the metro.

At the end of the day we went out to get some dinner. On the way there we stopped by some little shops on the beach. After dinner we were passed out and went straight to sleep. Today was fun and I wonder what tommorow will bring us?

Day 3

We had got word that their was going to be a soccer game against Vasco and Fluminese (two brazilian teams) so we decided to go. That day the sun was blistering outside. We stayed unitl half time and then left because I couldn’t take the sun anymore. Of course we were on team Vasco so through out the entire game Vasco’s side was chanting “Go Vasco, Go Vasco!”. After all it was the Vasco stadium. They ended up winning and the crowd going wild.

We were pretty tired after that so we went back to the hotel to rest for a bit. When we finished resting we packed our bags to go to the beach. We stopped by to get lunch where we found a bunch of bananas. It was really hot that day so the water was pretty warm. We body surfed and dove under the waves, it was so much fun! We also got corn as a snack.

After the beach we were super hungry so we got dinner. To get to the restaurant we had to take a electrical scooter that were on the streets and ride to the other side of Ipanema beach. Today was so great and tommorow will surely be too.

Day 4

Since today was our last day in Rio we decided just to hang out at the beach. The water was slightly colder than it was yesterday so I only got up to my chest. It was still fun as we walked through most of the beach. We spent a while their and then went to the mall where we bought some flipflops for me and a leash for my dog.

When we finished it was already like 4 p.m. so we went to the hotel rested, got changed and then set out for dinner. There was one restaurant that we liked so much that we went there again for the second time. We ate chicken and steak with some beans, rice and fries. I also had some lemonade. We went once again by the Malecon (the sidewalk near the beach) and bought a necklace and a bracelet made out of shells.

We went to bed earlier than usual since we had to wake up at 2:30. When we finally woke up we only had 30 minutes to get ready and leave. When we finally got to the airport we saw that there wasn’t too many people there. We were so sad to leave but we knew that we would one day come back. Bye Rio!
